About Our Ranking System
A detailed guide to how we calculate ranks, percentiles, and scores.
We analyze every boss fight to determine your performance relative to your peers. To ensure fairness, we categorize parses into three distinct ladders:
- Hardcore: The purest form of competition. Parses here are completely free of external raid buffs from other players (like Power Infusion, Tricks of the Trade, etc.).
- Competitive: Allows for a limited, strategic use of external buffs, reflecting a more typical raid environment. The specific rules are determined by community feedback.
- Regular: Includes all valid parses that are not disqualified for abuse, regardless of buffs. A Hardcore parse is also a Competitive and Regular parse.
Seasonal Rankings
This is the primary competitive environment. Every few months, a new season begins, and the leaderboards are reset. This ensures you are always competing against players with a similar level of gear progression. Your Seasonal Percentile shows how you stack up against others in the current season.
All-Time Rankings
The All-Time Percentile is calculated using only your single best performance for a specific boss, class, and spec, compared against the best performances of all other players across all seasons. It measures your absolute peak performance.
Rank (#)
Your Rank is your **live position** on a leaderboard right now. It is calculated on-the-fly every time you view the page by ordering players by their raw DPS or HPS. If a new, better parse is uploaded, your rank will instantly go down.
Percentile (%)
Your Percentile is your **pre-calculated statistical score**. This is a more stable measure that tells you what percentage of other parses you performed better than. This score is calculated by a background job and is what determines your Grade (S, A, B, etc.).
The All Boss Performances table on your profile shows your single best parse for each boss and difficulty you have completed in the selected season. When you click on a row in that table, thePersonal Bests section at the top will show you the details for that specific fight, breaking down your best performance for each of the three ladders (Hardcore, Competitive, and Regular).
